In Gods Will Be Watching schlüpft man in die Rolle von Sergeant Burden und dessen Teammitglieder, die zwischen soziale Werte wie Moral, Dilemma und Entscheidungszwang gefangen sind. Man durchlebt verschiedene Situationen unterteilt in Kapiteln und muss durch einzelnes, aber kontrolliertes Entscheiden das Geschehen auf den richtigen Weg leiten. Jede eurer Entscheidung erzeugt eine Reaktion, die wiederum eine Gegenreaktion von euch verlangt: Opfert ihr in der Apokalypse das "schwächste" Glied in der Gruppe, um selber nicht den Hungertod zu erleiden beziehungsweise das Weiterleben der Gruppe zu ermöglichen? Was ist der Tod eines Menschen angesicht der kommenden Zernichtung überhaupt wert?
Verantwortlich für das Game ist das kleine Entwicklerstudio Deconstructeam mit Sitz in Valencia, Spanien. Das Game spielt sich als Point'n'click Adventure-Game mit grober Pixelart-Grafik und wurde als Vorabversion in Form einer Demo im Rahmen von Ludum Dare, ein Game Jam-Contest in nur weniger als 72 Stunden entwickelt.
Gods Will Be Watching steht seit Release im Jahr 2014 für die PC/Steam/GOG- und iOS-Plattform zur Verfügung.

Gods Will Be Watching is a minimalistic “point and click thriller” centered on despair, commitment, and sacrifice as players face narrative puzzles and moral dilemmas that will affect both the lives of your team and the people you’re are sworn to protect. Set against the backdrop of an interstellar struggle, Gods Will Be Watching follows Sgt. Burden and his crew in six tense chapters from hostage situations and wilderness survival to biological weapon prevention and agonizing torture scenarios. Each decision is crucial and players will need to choose between the lives of their team and the saving the world from genocide. There's no good or evil, just decisions, with only you and the gods as a judge to your actions.
