Octahedron wurde von Entwicklerstudio Demimonde - bestehend aus einer einzigen Person, Marco (auch bekannt als Monomirror) - in Zusammenarbeit mit Square Nix Collective entwickelt. Der Fokus bei der Entwicklung lag bei der Musik und den dazugehörigen Beat, der das Springen im Sinne vom Rhythmus der Musik im Game erst ermöglicht.
