Gestern wurden schon einige Veränderungen bei Nintendo angekündigt. Zum einen wurde mit Tatsumi Kimishima ein neuer Präsident für das Unternehmen gefunden, zum anderen erhielten Shigeru Miyamoto und Genyo Takeda neue Titel. Miyamoto wird fortan als "Creative Fellow" geführt, Takeda wird ab sofort als "Technology Fellow" geführt.
Kotaku ist mit einem Artikel an die Öffentlichkeit gegangen, in der die weiteren Änderungen bei Nintendo dargelegt werden und sie sind nicht nur rein personeller Natur, auch die Firmentstruktur wird sich erheblich ändern und zentralisieren.
Miyamoto wird in Zukunft nicht mehr den Titel des General Manager, Entertainment Analysis & Development Division (EAD) tragen und das hat seinen guten Grund. Die Abteilung, die für die AAA Titel wie Zelda oder Super Mario verantwortlich ist, existiert in dieser Form nicht mehr. Demnach werden EAD und SPD (Software Planning & Development Division) ab dem morgigen Tag zu der Establishment of the Entertainment Planning & Development Division (in seiner Kurzform wohl in Zukunft EPD genannt). We will integrate personnel who are involved in the development of software for Nintendo platforms and smart devices in addition to work associated with effective utilization of character IP, and in order to create a structure that operates efficiently and rapidly, the Entertainment Analysis & Development Division and the Software Planning & Development Division will be consolidated into the newly established Entertainment Planning & Development Division.

Shinya Takahashi, vormals Chef von SPD wird neuer Vorsitzender dieser Division. Die Vorteile dieser Zusammenlegung sind offensichtlich. Die Kommunikation, der Austausch von Technologie, die Verlagerung von Angestellten bei anstehenden Projekten und die Effizienz können damit verbessert werden. Laut Kotaku wird Takahashi dadurch offensichtlich mehr Verantwortung und Authorität erhalten, und könnte Miyamoto so langfristig ersetzen; womöglicherweise sogar als kommender Präsident aufgebaut werden.

We will integrate personnel responsible for the technology development essential for Nintendo’s hardware formation such as hardware, OS, development environment and network, and in order to create a structure in which we can more broadly and efficiently conduct technology development necessary for new products and services, the Integrated Research & Development Division and the System Development Division will be consolidated into the newly established Platform Technology Development Division.
Establishment of the Business Development Division
We will newly establish the Business Development Division, a division with the aim of refining the business model for the dedicated video game system business, and creating and making profitable the smart device business and the new business that utilizes character IP.
