Letzten Samstag feierte die Konkurrenzkonsole ihren ersten Geburtstag, am Samstag wird auch die Xbox One ein Jahr alt. Die Konsole startete in 13 Ländern und Microsoft will die Besitzer der Xbox One für den Kauf auch belohnen.
Major Nelson teilte in seinem Blog mit, was Besitzer alles erwartet. Zunächst erhalten alle Kunden, die die Konsole in einem der 13 Launch-Länder gekauft haben und die Bedinungen erfüllen, eine E-Mail, in dem alle Errungenschaften bzw. Achievements aufgelistet sind, die sie die letzten 12 Monate geschafft haben. Dazu gab man außerdem einige interessante Daten preis:
- Mehr als 11 Milliarden an Gamerscore wurden in dem Jahr insgesamt errungen
- Mehr als zwei Milliarden Stunden verbrachten die Nutzer mit ihrer Konsole
- Die populärsten Achievements, die bei Spielen erlangt wurden, sind folgende: - Forza Motorsport 5: Welcome to Forza Motorsport
- Titanfall: Build Yourself
- Destiny: Ship Rite
- Call of Duty: Ghosts: Spatial Awareness
Jeder Kunde, der die Bedingungen erfüllt (man muss die Xbox One zwischen dem 22.11.2013 und dem 11.11.2014 erworben haben. Man muss aus einem der 13 Launch Länder kommen. Man muss mehr als 10 Stunden mit der Konsole verbracht haben. Man muss älter als 17 sein), erhält ab Freitag folgende Geschenke:

- New Xbox One backgrounds: A special Year One background as well as an exclusive Day One background for those who unlocked the Day One achievement
