Wie nun von Shuhei Yoshida, Präsident der SCE World Wide Studios, via Twitter verkündet wurde, hat sich die PlayStation 4 in Nordamerika (USA und Kanada) innerhalb von 24 Stunden über eine Millionen mal durchverkaufen können. Somit legte die PS4 den erfolgreichsten Launch eines PlayStation Systems hin und übertraf damit sogar die PlayStation 2, welche damals in Japan zuerst erschienen ist und drei Tage für diese Marke benötigte.

Die PS4 ist in Nordamerika am 15. November erschienen, wir Europäer müssen uns noch bis zum 29. November gedulden. In Japan erscheint die Konsole diesmal zuletzt, am 22. Februar 2014.
