Der Entwickler Factor 5 arbeitet nach eigenen Angaben an einem 3DS Game. Das Studio wurde 1987 in Köln gegründet und hatte mit Games wie Turrican und Katakis seine ersten Erfolge. Durch Fortsetzungen von Turrican und einer Partnerschaft mit LucasArts Entertainment, aus der Games wie Indiana Jones - Greatest Adventures (Super Nintendo) und Star Wars: Rebel Assault II (Sony Playstation) hervorgingen, konnte sich das Studio im Business behaupten. Es folgte eine engere Zusammenarbeit mit Nintendo in der Spiele-Hits wie Star Wars: Rogue Squadron oder Star Wars: Rogue Squadron III - Rebel Strike entstanden. Im Jahr 2005 wurde eine neue Partnerschaft mit Sony geschlossen, Factor 5 entwickelte das weniger erfolgreiche Game LAIR für die PS3. Ende 2009 / Anfang 2010 musste der Entwickler sein Übersee-Studio schließen und sich umstrukturieren.
Auf seiner Homepage teilt der Entwickler nun mit dass man an einem Game für Nintendos 3D - Handheld arbeitet.
