Microsoft verweigert anscheinend Drittherstellern die Entwicklung von kabellosen Zubehör für die Xbox 360. Während Sony bei der PlayStation 3 den bekannten Bluetooth Standard verwendet, hat Microsoft bei der Xbox 360 ein eigenes Verfahren entwickelt und dieses darf bis jetzt keine andere Firma nutzen.
So wird zum Beispiel der PlayStation 2 ("Last Generation") Version von Guitar Hero eine kabellose Gitarre beiligen. Bei der Xbox 360 ("New Generation") Fassung muss man allerdings mit einer USB Gitarre zufrieden sein (siehe Bild).

"Well, that's a Microsoft issue. Their wireless technology is proprietary...so they aren't allowing 3rd party manufacturers to make anything at the moment....so until they allow us to do so, we aren't able to."
