Nintendo und Niantic werden laufe des Jahres eine Mobile-App rund um Pikmin veröffentlichen. Die App soll zum Laufen motivieren. Die Pikmin-App kombiniert die AR-Technologie von Niantic und die Charaktere von Nintendo.
Die Software wird der erste Titel von Niantic Tokyo Studio werden und agieren hier als Publisher. Das Studio wurde April 2018 gegründet. Weitere Details wurden nicht genannt.
