Nach den zahlreichen Gerüchten und Berichten um den Weggang von Hideo Kojima, gibt es nun ein Gerücht um die Schließung von Kojima Productions LA. Das Studio war mit der Entwicklung des Online-Parts "Metal Gear Online" zu Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain betraut.
George Broussard, der in der Industrie mittlerweile dafür bekannt ist, solche Informationen ans Tageslicht zu fördern, teilte den Umstand auf Twitter mit. Alle 35 Mitarbeiter des Entwicklers sollen entlassen worden sein.
Bislang hat sich Konami noch nicht öffentlich dazu geäußert. Sam Thompson, seines Zeichens Produzent bei Sony Computer Entertainment America, bekräftigt das Gerücht aber in einem Tweet, in dem er seine Trauer um die Schließung ausdrückt.
