Auf der letzten Nintendo-Konferenz am 29. September 2010 hatte Nintendo für den japanischen Markt eine rote Wii und ein roter DSi XL anlässig des Super Mario-Jubiläums angekündigt. Bisher war kein Europa-Releasetermin bekannt. Nun wurde von Seiten Nintendo of Europa die Special-Editonen auch für den europäischen Markt angekündigt.
Das "New Super Mario Bros. Nintendo DSi XL Special Edition Pack" erscheint am 22. Oktober 2010 und beinhaltet selbstverständlich den DSi XL und das DS-Game New Super Mario Bros.. Am 29. Oktober 2010 erscheint dagegen die Wii Special-Edition. Darin ist selbstverständlich die rote Wii selber enthalten, als auch die Wii-Games New Super Mario Bros. Wii und Wii Sports. Eine rote Wii-Fernbedienung, ein roter Nunchuk-Controller und schlussendlich die Virtual Console-Version von Donkey Kong befinden sich ebenfalls im Lieferumfang.

Mario Bros. has been with us for 25 fun-filled years and, to celebrate, Nintendo is unveiling two, limited edition red bundles.
First up is the New Super Mario Bros. Nintendo DSi XL Special Edition Pack available across Europe from 22nd October 2010 which includes a red Nintendo DSi XL branded with character icons and a copy of New Super Mario Bros.
On 29th October 2010 the New Super Mario Bros. Wii Pack will launch across Europe including a red Wii, a red Wii Remote Plus, a red Nunchuk and three games. As well as New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Wii Sports, the bundle will also include the original edition of Donkey Kong pre-installed on the Wii, in homage to Mario’s first ever appearance.
