Sega hat nach der Enthüllung in der Nintendo Power nun auch offiziell die Entwicklung von Sonic und der Schwarze Ritter angekündigt. Demnach handelt es sich bei dem Spiel um einen weiteren Teil der Märchenbuch-Reihe, die mit Sonic und die geheimen Ringe ihren Anfang nahm.
Sonic und der Schwarze Ritter spielt im Mittelalter und der blaue Igel hat dabei die Chance, selbst zum Ritter zu werden. Dazu muss der Spieler eine Reihe von Missionen erfüllen, die allesamt in Umgebungen spielen, die an die Legende von König Arthur angelehnt sind.
Erscheinen soll Sonic und der Schwarze Ritter im Frühjahr 2009 exklusiv für die Wii.
